Abstract
The study was conducted in Balaghat districts of Madhya Pradesh India to evaluate the profile characteristics of SRI practicing tribal farmers. Total 300 respondents were interviewed for the study. Majority of the respondents were middle aged having low land holdings. Most of the respondents possessed high school of education, kachcha type of house. High percent of respondents belong to STcategory, possessed medium to high farm power and low material possession. Majority of them hailed from nuclear families possessed medium social participation. Most of respondentsbelonged to medium income categories and medium production level. Mass media exposure, Closeness with extension agents, Extension participation of the respondents were found to be medium. Majority of the respondents belonged to medium number of training received, medium aspiration level, medium level of economic motivation, medium level of risk preference, medium level of innovation proneness, and mediumlevel of scientificorientation.
