Abstract
Dairy occupation in India has been an age old practice, mainly because of it is complementary to agriculture and also because of vegetarian habits of people. Dairying is a subsidiary occupation for big farmers while it is a major occupation to weaker section of rural community. Moreover an important diversified activity dairying enterprise is more helpful for economic development. Dairy had one of the sectors in India where female work force participation has been very high relating to maintenance of dairy cattle, milk production and process sing. The present study was carried out to know the perceived attributes of dairy farming activities by farmers. The study found that majority (90.70%) of the respondents strongly agreed that left over food in the kitchen can be used as cattle feed followed by FYM can be used by 89.33 percent of respondents. Further dairy farming is suited to all cultures was strongly agreed by 92.00 per cent of the respondents. Large majority (88.00%) of the respondents strongly agreed for improver dairy breeds are expensive whereas 96.00 per cent of the respondents strongly agreed dairying can be trailiable on small scale basis and 98.67 per cent of respondents were strongly agreed increased milk yield and income would be visible
