Introduction
India is a nation where women empowerment is yet to take place, especially in rural and semi urban areas, where they are still looked down as the weaker and incapable sex. When half population of our country is struggling for their basic right, it is almost impossible for development of nation. There is no chance of the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved. That’s why now a day’s women empowerment is a global movement. It will continue to remain a buzzword until patriarchal societal norms are challenged and the state comes forward to protect women against violence. In today’s scenario women empowerment can be considered as an essential part of nation building. It is the need to initiate and to sustain the development of any economy. Actually empowerment as an action refers both to process of self empowerment and to professional support of people which enables them to overcome their sense of powerlessness and lack of influence and to recognize and eventually to use their resources and chances.
