A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF PH.D. THESES IN THE DISCIPLINE OF THE VETERINARY SCIENCE SUBMITTED TO BAU LIBRARY IN MYMENSINGH, BANGLADESH

Abstract

This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of the doctoral dissertation for the period from1985 to December 2019 which had awarded in the Faculty of Veterinary Science at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh, in the field of anatomy & histology, microbiology & hygiene, physiology, pharmacology, parasitology, pathology, medicine and surgery & obstetrics. The distributions of Ph.D. theses have been analyzed and identified year-wise, subject-wise, gender-wise and guide-wise distribution during the period from 1985 to December 2019. This study led to increase the research activities in various aspects and applied in depth researches in future. An analysis of the period revealed that the rates of differences degree between the subjects as a whole. Pertinent to this study provides statistics of doctoral research awarded in the Faculty of Veterinary Science at Bangladesh Agricultural University and this faculty play an important role to develop innovative concept / idea in field of Veterinary Science. BAU is producing quality agricultural scientists and technologists and also to make Veterinary scientists to take up their place in the agricultural, livestock and fisheries scientists of the country. Doctoral theses have been evaluated for further research purpose and analyzed chronologically, subject wise participation rates by the guides.
