Abstract
The Trans-Giri region of District Sirmour in Himachal Pradesh is a unique area marked by its rugged terrain and rich cultural heritage. The geographical features of the region-such as its mountainous landscape, rivers, and valleys—have played a critical role in shaping the folk culture that thrives there. This study aims to explore the spatial dimensions of folk culture in the Trans-Giri region, examining how geography has influenced traditional practices, festivals, rituals, art, and architecture. By analyzing the relationship between physical environment and cultural practices, the paper highlights the symbiotic nature of geography and culture in rural areas like Trans-Giri. The findings underscore the importance of preserving folk culture as an integral part of regional identity while addressing the challenges posed by modernization.
