Abstract
The paper describes the profile characteristics of watershed farmers in watershed areas of Andhra Pradesh state. The results indicated that majority of them had primary school education (33.34%) and small farmers (49.16%), high levels of socio-political participation (44.16%), whereas majority of them fell under medium category in terms of age (38.75%), farming experience (59.58%), trainings undergone (42.50%), extension contact (44.58%), information seeking behavior (44.58%), mass media exposure (38.33%), innovativeness (50.00%), risk taking ability (48.33%), status of watershed (38.75%), group cohesiveness (45.00%) and group leadership (42.92%). Whereas majority of them had low input usage pattern (40.83%), environmental awareness (47.08%), group communication (42.09%), team work (47.50%) and group norms (47.91%).
