Abstract
This research explored measures being taken to tackle harmful traditional practices and further intervention mechanisms. The research employed qualitative method, 10 interviews were purposively selected and data was gathered via in-depth interview. The research findings include; measures taken by government against HTPs such as awareness creation campaigns, creation of anti-HTPs committees, employing social capital and intervention mechanisms further to be take such as; allocating adequate finance, logistics and man power, concerted and organized action of stakeholders, involvement of main actors of harmful traditional practices, using community radios and appropriate use of medium of communication.
