Abstract
Tribal communities in India have long maintained distinct cultural identities, yet they face significant socio-economic challenges that threaten their traditional ways of life. This research paper explores the issues surrounding tribal identity in India, including historical marginalization, loss of traditional lands, socioeconomic disparities, and cultural erosion. It also examines contemporary challenges such as inadequate access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. Finally, the paper proposes potential pathways for the empowerment and sustainable development of tribal communities, emphasizing the importance of inclusive policies, preservation of cultural heritage, and active participation of tribal people in decision-making processes.
