SKILLING – A BRIDGE OF DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

Skill Development Programmes are mainly focusing to impart skills in a particular trade for strengthening their employability for livelihood. Different schemes of Govt. of India as like Jan Shikshan Sansthans (JSSs), Pradhan Manthri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gramin Kaushal Vikas Yojana (DDUGKY) etc..are the main schemes implementing in India for providing skill up-gradation. The skill development programmes are closely related for the sustainable development. The participation of youth especially women in these schemes are very high and also supporting to improve their employability and income. The study on sustainable development through skill development programmes of JSSs and other schemes reveal the participation of women in rural area is supporting to improve the living condition and it leads to the sustainable development.
