Abstract
Dowry known social curse existing in our nation since our independence. The most heinous and shocking forms of dowry are dowry death and homicidal deaths of women in India. The Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 provides the protection against this crime, still every year more than 8000 cases are registered for dowry death under crime against women in India.
